Bannister's Track Reopens

The site where the first sub 4 mile was run by Roger Bannister has reopened.

"The resurfaced track has now been awarded UK Athletics certification to hold meetings and be eligible for record attempts."

I can only imagine how the current generation of British milers must feel hearing about this news. After all, only 5 British men ran faster miles in 2006 than Bannister did 53 years ago. I get goosebumps just thinking about the possibility of an attempt at the mile record on this historic track on Iffley Road.
